MEET THE PEOPLE WE SERVE IN BELGIUM

Belgium has been a prosperous country due to its advantageous geographical location, highly skilled workforce, quality infrastructure and the presence of many international organizations. There is an underlying feeling of distrust among the federal government and Belgians, with more trust put in regional governments, primarily due to similar languages. For most Belgians religion plays little or no role in their life.

LEARN ABOUT OUR MISSION IN BELGIUM

Values have become relative and faith has little meaning in Belgium, but Missionhurst has decided to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ that meets the expectations of the Belgian society. In response to the growth of inequality, individualism, manipulation and violence, they have committed to promoting education for justice, peace and universal brotherhood. The missionaries are particularly eager to reach out to the youth to help them in their growth and believe that it is their vocation to proclaim the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ — especially when times are darkest and faith is running dry.

They are committed to bring knowledge of truth, beauty and goodness to the youth and vulnerable, especially in light of recent horrors. The terror attack was a reminder to us to trust God and rely on Him, even when things are going so poorly in the world.
