Dear Friends and Co-missionaries of Missionhurst,

How gracious and generous you are to our missionaries! Despite the dire economy and the fact that the overall sum of donations was down, we consider this past Fiscal Year to be an exceptional one, because of you. You are the ones who heard the cries of the poor and responded with kindness that warmed their hearts, healed bodies, and comforted their souls. You remembered the words of our Lord who asked our compassion for the poor: "When you fed the hungry and gave water to the thirsty, you did it for me."

Our missionaries were deeply troubled by the sharp increase in suffering they saw in their missions this past year. Their descriptions of the desperate struggles of the sick, the poor, the abandoned, and the starving were heart-wrenching. Yet, when we knocked on your door, you opened it wide and invited us in.

It was only through your generous sacrifices and prayers that we were able to proclaim the Good News and to support most of the urgently needed works of our missionaries in distressed parishes around the world.

We are very grateful and proud to call you our co-missionaries in this vital effort; the Lord has indeed blesses us with your faithfulness. Truly, you are the personification of the Body of Christ.

With our eyes fixed on Christ, our Lord and our Light, we continue to move forward with hope. Be assured that we will always remember you in our daily prayers of thanksgiving. Know also that when the poor raise their hands and eyes in gratitude to God their Savior, they will sing your praises too, as the helping hands and comforters sent by God.

With Deep Gratitude,
