Our missionary priests are running hundreds of parish schools in the DRC, working to lift children and their families out of poverty through education.
UNDERSTANDING THE NEED
The DRC is one of the poorest countries in the world, with well over 50% of the country living in poverty on less than $1 a day. Because of the extreme poverty of the country and the fact that a significant part of the country’s people are Catholic, the Catholic schools and churches of the DRC are a crucial network that helps children discover new opportunity through education.
Without this network of parish schools, children in remote or rural areas would have no schooling options at all.
