St. Jean Bosco School is a primary school (Grades 1-6) that offers a Catholic education to 700 students from impoverished families who live in the remote mountain regions of Haiti.
UNDERSTANDING THE NEED
About 20,000 people live across a mountainous region of Haiti called Bois de Laurence which has little access to infrastructure or resources. The parents and families of Bois de Laurence love St. Jean Bosco School, and some children walk two hours each day in order to come to school. Classrooms are packed with 700 children who are eager to learn.
But many families cannot afford to pay the $120 it takes to educate their children for the whole year. And St. Jean Bosco School needs money in order to pay the high-quality teachers it hires to offer high-quality education in a rural and primitive setting.
We offer education and opportunity to children and families who have very little. When children are offered an education, they are given an irreplaceable gift that changes their life, their community, and the world.
UNDERSTANDING OUR GOALS
We want to build new classrooms and maintain existing school spaces.
We want to connect children in need with generous sponsors willing to donate $10 a month.
We want to raise money in order to hire and pay our dedicated teachers and staff.
HOW FAR DOES YOUR DOLLAR GO?
Your money goes a long way toward changing a child’s life.
