The Sunflower Center is a professional ministry based in Baguio City focused on therapeutic healing and psychosocial support for children who have been abused or neglected. We work alongside governmental centers and other non-profit organizations to restore children to families and heal the wounds that keep them from thriving.
UNDERSTANDING THE NEED
The streets of Filipino cities are full of children, many of them abandoned or neglected. Estimates suggest that there are close to 1.5 million children living on the streets without any form of adult care or protection. Because of this, many children become the victims of sex traffickers and exploitative labor practices even at ages as young as 5 and 6.
Even when these children are rescued and placed in shelters, they need attentive love and professional psychological help to process and heal the trauma they have experienced.
We serve children who have been abandoned, abused, neglected, and trafficked. The children we serve have suffered tremendously in their short lives, and the Sunflower Center helps them to begin the process of healing.

We want to offer therapeutic intervention that helps children live happy, healthy lives after trauma.
We want to train families and other social workers to help children cope with difficult circumstances.
We want to continue building our care-giving capacity at the Center in order to be able to serve more children in need.
