When COVID-19 hit, we were forced to cancel many of our in-person fundraising efforts and Mission Appeals around the country. This left our mission projects across the world in need of urgent funding.
Although we could not reach our set goal of $300,000 due to the effects of the pandemic on everyone, we rejoice in raising a total amount of $78,558 to date.
The COVID Recovery Fund is a one-year effort, set to run from August 2020 to July 2021. As we near the end, we appreciate any donation from those of you who can still help. May God bless you!
In addition to sustaining our regular mission projects, the recovery fund will provide aid for emergency requests from the many missions most severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an ordinary year, our missionaries travel across the United States to participate in summer parish mission appeals. These appeals raise the funds that support our global missions. However, because of the pandemic, we are unable to make these annual appeals, leaving us short of the funding needed to sustain aid to our mission communities.
Throughout the past year, our missionaries have encountered new challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this, the need for your generous support is even greater. Our missionaries are relying on your generous donations to bring relief and hope to the poor communities we serve.

The community in Port-au-Prince is facing not only the pandemic but also uncompromising poverty. Because the public health system in Haiti is not equipped to battle a pandemic of this magnitude, help is urgently needed to improve the quality of care. At the parish clinic of St. Jude, workers care for the sick, provide food, water, medicines, sanitizers, and masks to those who need them, and educate the community about the dangers of coronavirus and how to protect themselves.
One of the world’s poorest countries, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, faces many challenges as the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic wipe out already struggling food-supply chains. Our missionaries have helped provide emergency food and medicine to a struggling orphanage in Kinshasa.

A new water borehole will provide the community of Batouri with safe, fresh water needed for drinking and cleaning. This project, scheduled to be completed in July 2020, comes as a blessing for the people of the village during this time when water is needed to wash hands and maintain cleanliness.
Last August, we set a goal to money through our COVID-19 Recovery Fund to continue with our outreach to the poor across the world in our mission.
Although we could not reach our set goal due to the effect of the pandemic on everyone, we rejoice in raising a total amount of $77,758 to date. We are grateful that you contributed to this fund. Through the recovery fund, we provided emergency aids to St. Jude Clinic in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Saint Jude clinic has provided care for many patients during this pandemic. We assisted an orphanage in Mwene-Ditu, DR Congo, with the basic food. We sent funds to help restore a kindergarten school in Erdenet, Mongolia. We helped drill a water borehole in Yaoundé, Cameroon, to provide water to a neighborhood of more than 2,000 people, and we sent aids to the Life and Hope Children Ministry in Ipatinga, Brazil, for the medical and nutritional needs of children.
All this was possible because of your help. The COVID-19 recovery fund campaign was a one-year effort that was supposed to run from August 2020 to July 2021. As we are getting to the close of the campaign, we appreciate any donation from those of you who can still help.
We remain ever grateful for your support and faithfulness in serving with us in God's mission. May God bless you.
With my heartfelt gratitude,
In Christ Jesus,
Fr. Andre Kazadi — CICM
